What is RCT?

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a procedure designed to save a severely damaged or infected tooth. When the soft tissue inside the tooth (pulp) becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, trauma, or cracks, a root canal is necessary to prevent further damage. During the procedure, the infected pulp is carefully removed, and the inside of the tooth is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. After cleaning, the tooth is filled with a special material to seal it and prevent future infection. In most cases, a crown is placed on the treated tooth to restore its strength and function. Root canal treatments are essential for:
  • Relieving pain from infected teeth,
  • Preventing tooth extraction,
  • Preserving the natural tooth for proper chewing and speaking.
Though many patients fear the procedure, modern root canal treatment is typically no more uncomfortable than a standard filling, thanks to advances in dental techniques and anesthesia. At Indira Dental Care, we ensure that our patients undergo root canal treatment with minimal discomfort and maximum care. Our priority is to save your tooth while maintaining your overall dental health.
